Dr. Krishna Subramony Iyer has more than four decades of extensive experience in paediatric and congenital heart surgery. He has performed surgical procedures on more than 10,000 patients, including babies, children, and adults with congenital heart diseases. His expertise covers a wide spectrum of simple to highly complex congenital heart defects, including arterial switch operations, double-switch procedures, TAPVC repairs, Fontan procedures, and multiple staged corrections. He has made significant contributions in developing rapid two-stage arterial switch procedures and performed the first successful rapid two-stage arterial switch and double-switch operations in India. His current clinical interests include complex neonatal cardiac surgery, treatment of malnourished children, late-presenting congenital heart disease cases, and cost-effective cardiac care models.
